The new Studio in White Oak from Wrensilva introduces a refined aesthetic to its smallest record console, broadening design choices for the compact model. Based in San Diego, the company specializes in merging high-fidelity audio with furniture-grade construction. This latest finish follows strong customer and designer requests and complements the original Studio launch from earlier this year, maintaining the same integrated functionality in a more streamlined form.
The Studio measures 31 inches wide by 17 inches deep and 33 inches tall, fitting smaller spaces while retaining key features like a built-in turntable, amplifier, and speakers. Unlike the larger Standard and M1 models, the White Oak version offers a subtler, modern appearance. The woodwork emphasizes rift-sawn and quarter-sawn grain patterns, avoiding the bold cathedral grain for a cleaner look.
Debra Salyer, co-founder and head of design at Wrensilva, noted the wood’s broad appeal. “White Oak has always been one of our most requested woods by both interior designers and customers. We love working with it due to its durability and easy elegance. It has a certain soothing quietness to the grain and wood tone; I find the combination of the oak with the natural colored speaker screens lends a nice earthiness to a variety of decor schemes ranging from contemporary to even rustic interiors.” The finish also includes a durable water-based topcoat.
Functional design elements enhance the console’s utility. The front door features a carved undulating pattern that improves acoustics while storing up to 40 albums. Inside, the turntable deck includes warm backlighting and a brass Wrensilva logo. The audio system remains unchanged, with a floating belt-driven turntable, a 100-watt-per-channel Class D amplifier, and custom two-way bass-reflex speakers. Additional components include a frosted acrylic platter, a one-piece magnesium tonearm, and an Ortofon 2M Red cartridge.
Despite its analog roots, the console supports contemporary listening. Users can toggle between vinyl, Bluetooth, auxiliary input, and optional Sonos multi-room audio, adapting to modern setups. The Studio in White Oak is available at wrensilva.com and select DWR studios, starting at $9,900.
