The Inn at Green Pastures opened in December 2025, adding a 63-room boutique hotel to Austin’s historic Green Pastures estate. The property dates back to 1895, when a modest farmhouse was built on the site, later becoming a beloved restaurant in 1946. Located in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood, the hotel is just minutes from South Congress Avenue and South First Street, blending historic charm with modern convenience.

Designed by Clayton Korte, the hotel sits on a five-acre estate shaded by 220 heritage oak trees. The three-story, L-shaped building maintains the site’s natural setting, with underground parking and large roof overhangs made from steel and wood that shield from Austin’s intense sun. The structure sits beneath an extensive oak canopy, preserving more than 200 protected trees that have become integral to the property’s identity.

A Historic Estate Reimagined

The Inn is part of a long-term master plan by Clayton Korte, which began with restoring the original farmhouse as Mattie’s restaurant and event venue. The hotel, opened in December 2025, expands the estate’s legacy while maintaining its historic character. Resident peacocks continue to roam the grounds, adding to the property’s timeless charm.

Interiors Inspired by Nature

Inside, the hotel features deep forest greens and rich browns, inspired by the surrounding environment. These tones are paired with contemporary floral wallcoverings, crisp pinstripe upholstery, embroidered drapery, and custom white oak millwork. Plush seating and clean architectural lines create a refined yet inviting atmosphere.

Guest rooms have high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows, filling the spaces with natural light. Rich hardwood flooring, marble sinks, and deep bathtubs enhance the guest experience, offering a blend of luxury and comfort. West-facing rooms open onto a private pool courtyard, providing serene views and a retreat from the city.

A Destination for Gatherings

The hotel’s all-day restaurant and bar, Henry’s, serves both guests and locals. The venue features forest green tones, floral wallcoverings, and tailored pinstripe furnishings, creating a polished yet welcoming atmosphere. The space is designed to feel distinctive while maintaining the estate’s social character.

The lounge, bar, and casual dining spaces overlook the private pool courtyard, making them natural gathering places throughout the day. The hotel also offers dedicated event spaces, a fitness center, and a pool, providing a variety of options for guests and locals alike.
